CHRISTEN TAYLOR SMITH

BACHELOR OF ARTS

Hi! My name is Taylor and welcome to my site! It will always be a work in progress as I continue to learn and explore my art.

I am an artist based out of South Central Pennsylvania. I am an avid animal lover, enjoy hiking, working in my garden, and a thoughtful conversation over a great cup of coffee.

I am passionate about the connection between mind and spirit, using my hands to create one of a kind pieces of art that reflects the beautiful world around us.

ACCREDITATIONS

A bit about my background: I received my Bachelors of Arts from Shippensburg University with a focus on ceramics and sculpture.

During my time there, I had the pleasure of working directly with Ceramics Professor Ben Culbertson, MFA, and Sculpture Professor Steve Dolbin, MFA, as an assistant teacher and lab supervisor.

I enjoyed learning as much as I could from working with other artists and with students who, just like me, were aspiring to share a bit of ourselves through our work.

I was honored to receive first place in the Student Art Exhibition for my sculpture series "Just Keep Climbing" and have worked with clients creating custom pieces for their family homes.

My enthusiasm for working with others reflects in my current position as an Adventure Teacher engaging with children through a hands on learning experience. Helping others grow as individuals has taught me much about myself and continues to fuel my devotion to bring light to the human experience.
