CHRISTEN TAYLOR
BACHELOR OF ARTS
My name is Taylor and welcome to my site! It will always be a work in progress as I continue to learn and explore my art.
I am an artist originally from South Central Pennsylvania. I am currently located in the Piedmont Triad Area of North Carolina. I am an avid lover of animals, enjoy hiking, working in my garden and delight in a thoughtful conversation over a great cup of coffee.
I am passionate about the connection between mind and spirit, using my hands to create one of a kind artistic pieces that reflect the beauty of our world.
ACCREDITATIONS
A bit about my background: I received my Bachelors of Arts from Shippensburg University with a focus in ceramics and sculpture.
During my time there, I had the pleasure of working directly with Ceramics Professor Ben Culbertson, MFA, and Sculpture Professor Steve Dolbin, MFA, as an assistant teacher and lab supervisor. I also had the privilege to study Art History under Professor Kate Keely, MFA, and Don Stewart, BFA. I was honored to receive first place in the Student Art Exhibition for my sculpture series "Just Keep Climbing."
I enjoyed learning as much as I could from working with other artists and with students who, like me, were aspiring to share a bit of ourselves through our work.
My enthusiasm for working with others reflects in my former position as an Art teacher engaging with children through hands on learning experiences. Helping others grow as individuals has taught me much about myself and continues to fuel my devotion to bring light to the human experience.
